About Marguerite

Hi, I’m Marguerite. I am a holistic, somatic, and trauma-informed therapist based in Los Angeles. I am bilingual in English & Spanish and identify as a Black woman and Afro-Latina, with Caribbean heritage. Born and raised in South Los Angeles, and having lived in Guatemala, Spain, Costa Rica, Massachusetts, and Michigan, I bring a deep appreciation for the ways culture, identity, family systems, and social environments shape emotional well-being.

At Freedom and Soul Healing, I support individuals in getting unstuck, reconnecting with themselves, and creating greater joy, ease, and alignment in their lives. My approach is anti-oppressive, compassionate, holistic, and direct, offering a safe and affirming space for meaningful healing and growth. I work collaboratively with clients to identify and while honoring each person’s lived experience, resilience, and strengths.

I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic practices, mindfulness, and spiritually guided modalities such as Reiki when aligned with client preferences. I often begin sessions with grounding practices to help clients feel present, connected, and supported. Together, we explore root concerns and identify barriers to change while strengthening emotional regulation, self-compassion, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

As a somatic therapist, I support clients in reconnecting with their bodies, increasing self-awareness, and developing practical coping tools that foster resilience, balance, and transformation. Through DBT-informed mindfulness and values-based decision making, I help clients strengthen self-esteem, set healthy boundaries, and build skills that support clarity, confidence, and alignment.

Together, we identify underlying concerns, shift unhelpful patterns, and develop tools that support meaningful and sustainable change.

Outside of therapy, I am also a professional singer forming a band this year. When I’m not with clients, you can catch me on a mindful walk, spending time with friends, dancing, attending community events, walking my dog, and listening to the latest R&B and Hip Hop hits.

Everyone encounters challenges, and you do not have to navigate them alone. I am here to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you move toward healing, clarity, and greater ease. It would be an honor to explore working together.

Marguerite’s Therapeutic Approach

My practice draws on Somatic Therapy, Parts Work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), all within an attachment-based approach that looks at how early experiences with caregivers shape our ability to form healthy emotional relationships throughout life. Therapy is a process of building trust, expressing emotions, and healing those foundational patterns so you can move forward with greater wholeness. That foundation guides everything we do together.

I also offer Couples Therapy and Family Therapy for those ready to do the work together.

Based in Los Angeles, CA, I provide therapy virtually to clients throughout California.
